The Korea Herald reports that Oriental Brewery Co. (OB) plans to increase the size of it’s jumbo-sized plastic bottles of beer from 1.6 liters to 1.8 without raising the price.
“Merely cutting prices won’t benefit the customers much,” said OB executive Kim Joon-young in a statement. “Offering larger volumes without changing the price is the only way to substantially benefit them.”
Well put. Obviously the decision was made with this customer in mind.

This is good news from the best-tasting domestic beer company in Korea. Now let’s work on getting its alcohol content up a bit.
*RANT MODE ON* Ok, if Korea is only going to sell dinky, little, tiny ass refrigerators there needs to be some sort of smart stacking system available for the new 1.8 liter bottles to maximize the cold beer storage problem. *RANT MODE OFF*
After more Cass than I care to remember, I splurged for two W25,000 pints of Guiness… how sweet it was! Even the delicious Chinese brew Tsing Tao, originally a German brewery near Shanghai, is expensive here in Korea.

i think the dude from the beer company forgot to mention that they were going to increase the volume by adding even more water. it’s a good idea because that way it’ll burn a little bit less when it’s thrown up all over the floor of the bathroom by six pm on tuesday nights.
it’s sort of sad in korea how all the vomit looks like kimchi. at least where i come from, there is some variety to the puke.
