Unee is Gone

Two months ago I reported that photos of Korean singer/actress Unee, a favorite at The Iceberg, were mistakenly described by Singaporean media as images of a Mongolian model who had been murdered in Malaysia. Thankfully, at the time, it was all a mix-up and Unee was alive and well.
Today, the news is not so good. Unee took her life yesterday.
As one who has experienced the loss of a friend through suicide recently, I’d like to stress that this is not something to be flippant about. My condolences to Unee’s family and friends.
Rest in peace, Unee.

Even though I’ve only known about U;Nee for around 3 months, about the same time U;Nee was mistakenly reported in the papers as the model being killed in malaysia, I had since then became a big fan of hers..
The recent news of her death devastated me, I feel pity at her depart from this world. Its really a pity, since she still have such great potential before her..
It was reported that U;Nee was suffering from depression due to the continual malicious attacks from ANTI-fans online, and she was already taking anti-depressents before the fateful day- 21 January 2007.
She had also pre-dated her death in her homepage as reported, with a posting suggestive of possible suicide.. her last posting read “I feel everything is empty. I am again walking down a path to reach a destination that I don’t know,”

without access to classes full of Koreans to ask, i’m behind the curve when it comes to hearing possible reasons for why Korean ‘talents’ are killing themselves.
have any of you heard any possible explanation for these deaths? are they being seen as individual cases or as some sort of trend?

As far as I know, it’s not really a trend. Two in the past twelve months or so. If I have time, I’ll do some investigating.

Eun-Joo took her life in February 2005, so about two years ago.
There were two other actors that committed suicide a few years ago..

omg…this girl was amazing…she was beautiful, she could sing great, she seemed so sweet…I can’t believe she took her own life…
Let this be a lesson to all you artist bashers and anti-fans…we all have feelings and even if you don’t think it’ll hurt the artist or the artist won’t see it…you should never say it.
To anti U;nee fans:
Look at what YOU have done…those who bashed U;Nee should be ashamed of yourselves. This poor girl is dead now and the blood is on your hands. Yes, suicide is wrong -n- it is her fault…no one else’s, but u anti-fans contributed to it…made her pain worse. Let this be a lesson…don’t you ever forget.
R.I.P U;nee
