The Iceberg

I discovered this video while reading this story in the IHT.  The video stars a worldwide cast of thousands - and a guy named Matt Harding, whom you can learn more about at www.wherethehellismatt.com.

In the meantime, watch the video and spend at least a few minutes of your day thinking positive and pleasant thoughts.

Ok, there is one downer to the video.  There is one shot of Matt dancing in front of Namdaemun (the South Gate) in Seoul, which those of us who live here all know has since burned to ashes.

After surfing through a variety of different blogs, downloading music and movies, watching the same episode of CSI Miami twelve times (”DRIVE-by…MiAMi style.”, “You know what they say, Frank…speed KILLS.”)*, playing X-box 360, searching for random videos on YouTube, and photoshopping your coworker’s face being squeezed out of a bottle of lube, do you fret that you still have too much time on your hands? Well, I think I have the solution to your problems:

Just download some AC/DC (or The Cars, if you’re not a fan of AC/DC…but how could you not be?) and click on this link to journey back to the days of hanging out at pizza parlors, bowling alleys, and yes, video arcades. A time when a man actually had to have some character and resolve to waste away the day. Wax nostalgic to the young snuffies of the Internet age how you used to have to tread barefoot through five miles of wind, snow, and ice to your local bowling alley to get your Galaga fix.

A co-worker pointed this video out to me the other day. Chances are you’ve seen it, since the last I checked it had received about 30 million hits over at YouTube. Then again, I had never seen it until a little over a week ago. It is, in a word, amazing.

I admit that this is horrible, but DAMN is it funny.

A little background:

Kevin Everett played football for the Buffalo Bills. He suffered a serious spinal cord injury in a game three weeks ago and it looked for awhile as if he might not survive. Since then he has shown miraculous progress and doctors now believe he will one day walk again.

When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon. Watch the front end of the car very closely as it clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you’ll see the white mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the road……Spooky! Is it a ghost, or is it simply mist? You decide. Requires sound.

Before you watch it, you really must turn up the sound, as some eerie noise appears about halfway through.
